The Institute is also active in basic teaching in SUPSI Bachelor's degree courses in Architecture and Civil Engineering; for the latter it is also responsible for the management and coordination of the education course.
The Institute also organises Continuing Education courses on topics in the Earth sciences, such as:
Land protection is an important topic in Alpine environments. Landslides, debris flows and floods cause significant damage every year. Continuing education courses deal with the various aspects related to the territory: from geological mapping, geotechnical investigations, modelling to the analysis of their dynamics; from monitoring to the design and management of warning systems, passing through the application of regulations governing the measures to be taken for the protection of people and property.
Sustainable water management implies solid training for all professionals who deal with the resource. The offered courses cover topics such as capturing and protecting sources, managing aqueducts, disposing of wastewater in an environmentally friendly manner and in compliance with current regulations, and assessing the status of water bodies.
Spatial planning is an activity that involves various institutional levels and professional figures. Education in this field is intended for public and private professionals who want to develop technical, organisational and administrative skills for the success of civil engineering projects and their proper management at the administrative level.
